I wonder who said smoking an oz. a week is cool, I really do. I don't know if it's just me, or you just like to assume. It makes me truly laugh that everything you've just said in this post probably tracks back to my topic (keep in mind, I said probably). Smoking weed doesn't make you cool, but tripping out like you are really triggers my funny bones. How much affect I can make someone burst really does it. I wonder why it bothers you so much if someone has a high tolerance for marijuana. I wonder why it bothers you so much if someone smokes ___ a day/week/month.
True, your topic inspired it. True, you never said it was cool But, This isn't a response to your topic and People DO think that the more you smoke = the cooler you are Also, all i said was that you smoke crap weed. I didn't insult you or anything [unless you consider the weed as something special to you, which i doubt]. And I even offered you a suggestion on how to remedy spending $400 a month on just pot. After a while, tolerance develops to even the stimulative effects of marijuana. Experienced users learn that there is an outer limit to how high they can get. Paradoxically, this limit can only be exceeded by lower consumption.
see, the thing with this is is that I believe this deals with smokers of heavy use over 2-5+ years or so. Where THC has become a very familiar, daily substance. And it points out a very good point. The HIGH Threshold There is a limit to how high a person can get --experienced users can reach this state and actually understand that they are there-- that cannot be exceeded. So, a lot of times, some of you folks are probably smoking far more than you need too. Post edited at 5:37 pm on Dec. 16, 2008 by Event Horizon

Everything I've read indicates that it is definitely not that long. Consistent usage (meaning nearly daily) for a period of about 4 months can give the user a very clear idea of each and every effect of the drug. The brain can remember chemical changes such as this.

I completely agree with this. I think a lot of new users are soooo enthralled with the drug that they think the more the merrier. This is absolutely not the case. In his article, he went on to explain that portion of the study. "The NIMH tolerance study confirms what most marijuana smokers have already discovered for themselves: The more often you smoke, the less high you get. The dose of THC used in the study was 10 mg per kilogram of body weight, a dose frequently used in clinical research. What is the equivalent of 10 mg/kg of THC in terms of human consumption? While most users are familiar with varying potencies of marijuana, many are only vaguely aware of differences in the efficiency of various ways to smoke it. Clinical studies indicate that only 10 to 20% of the available THC is transferred from a joint cigarette to the body. A pipe is better, allowing for 45% of the available THC to be consumed. A bong is a very efficient delivery system for marijuana; in ideal conditions the only THC lost is in the exhaled smoke. The minimum dose of THC required to get a person high is 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight. For a 165-pound person, this would be 750 micrograms of THC, about what is delivered by one bong hit. "

Oh, excuse me, I thought you were talking about something chemical. Oh yea, 4 months of medium to heavy use and you should know the ins and outs of being high pretty well. If the low dosage point was what i think it is, then that is 100% correct as well. There comes a point where you peak, and then anything past that only serves to add the cannabinol to your system, making you feel groggy and unpleasant. The point is to find out where your THC to CBN ratio is very high. short story: agreed. pardon my misreading.

yup

sounds like a great article. That is why I advocate only bongs or vap's. [I mean, i don't go against blunts or joints obviously]
