Macbook vs. Dell XPS?

So I'm looking for a new laptop. I've pretty much narrowed it down to one of the two. The only thing that's holding me back from the Mac is that it's an extra grand, and the fact that I'm kind of used to Windows.  

Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: It's pretty much just for school.

Please. Just because you don't know how to use it.

Depends on what you want it for. Audio/video/graphics manipulation is better suited for a Mac. Gaming is definitely a PC thing.

Oh, get something better to do with your life.

If you have the money and are willing to dive into the Mac platform, by all means go for it. Trust me, you won't regret it. You can even install Windows onto it to use software that you may find essential, or to play games. As computers they are both really good.

Like someone else stated, it also depends on your use.  If you're an art student, like graphic design DEFINITELY get the Mac.  If you want general use/games/windows I would recommend the XPS.

Go for an HP. My friends with Macbooks wanted them SO BADDDDD, but now they despise them, and they miss windows. And dells, in general, suck. Go for an HP or a toshiba.

Get the XPS.

The macbooks are overpriced for what they are good for. The XPS and Macbook are pretty similar, except the XPS starts cheaper.
