ive had vista for 5 months, i dont really like it. some things are nice, but in my opinion its just got too many bells and whistles. And it uses half your RAM at all times for indexing and other shit thats not neccesary. yea it makes room when you run an app. but it just bothers the shit out of me it makes gaming shitty as hell.

Ok, well last year was my first year of highschool and well you see i met this guy and i ended up liking him alot. He found out and we would flirt at school. then well all of a sudden he started being really rude to me calling me names and stuff. then after all that passed we went out but he used me i was so hurt cause i thought i could trust him. this happened about 3 times (i no im a sucker for guys) and well i finally got over him and practically blocked him outta my life i wanted nothin to do with him. then my birthday came and i had a party (and didnt invite him) but he showed up anyways (i was kinda pissed that he had the nerve to show up after everything we have been through) then a couple weeks ago he calls me which was a surprise and asked me if i hated him i said its not that i hate you its ive hate the things you've done. and he said i hate the things ive dont too! i didnt really understand all of this so i didnt pay much attention to it. then about a week after that he came on the msn and we were talking and he wnated to no if i wanted to go to his cottage with him (which i knew i wouldnt be aloud going to a guys cottage alone with him) and i didnt even really believe it was him so he called to proove it was him. but i said i couldnt go. the next day he called and asked if i wanted to go to his sisters house with a couple of friends and watch movies. so i went. but before i went i was thinking of all this and i dont no if he just wants sex or what? but i still went. right close to when i was leaving he grabbed my hand and we held hands for a bit then i had to go and he walked me out of the appartment. then next day he called again and wanted me to go over and i went and we watched movies and held hands again but i didnt and wouldnt get any closer and intiment with him because i didnt wanna get hurt AGAIN. its been about 2 weeks now and he calls saying he just got back from his cottage and wants to do something again we had made plans but something has always came up for me or him and well actually he just called about 5 min ago and it looks like im gonna end up going to his house for a bit. i really like him alot again but i cant help but keep thinking of what he did to me before. whats wrong with me? why do i keep going back to him? and is he just getting together with me because he wants something? can u please help me make the right choise because i am lost on what to do!! thanx so much for ur help

To start, I'm basically a computer genius (Tongue in cheek). I've used DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, XP, Ubuntu, Fedora, and Kubuntu. When I paid my tuition to college I got a copy of Windows Vista for free so I decided to break down and upgrade from XP. I don't know wtf people are complaining about. Once you turn off the little security thing that asks you if you're sure you want to do every little thing, it's actually a really decent, stable system. I've gotten one blue screen as a result of installing Zone Alarm but that's it. And it was really easy to rollback to the system configuration to fix it up. It also has this really neato thing where you can crop parts of the screen and automatically open it in an image viewer so you can save it. Unlike in XP where you have to print screen then save the picture manually. Everything is really pretty and the colour themes are nifty and easy to manipulate. All in all, don't listen to people bash Windows Vista, especially if they've never used it. It's actually a really decent OS and if you get the chance to upgrade then I say go for it. It's not nearly as much of a system hog as I had anticipated either. Most of all, don't listen to those stupid Mac commercials. K, I'm bored and trying to avoid smoking so I just felt like letting everyone know. Bai.

Could you not just do it kinda like Javascript though? For example:
create a file called: '.htaccess' (without quotes)
in it put:
DirectoryIndex funthings.pl

i have vista, and now that im used to it, its not so bad. but when i first got it, i hated how all my old games didnt run on it and the amount of RAM that it took. but there are alot of good features that i really like now, and i upgraded my RAM so its not a problem any more.
