Tell me the what's wrong with choosing these careers..

I hear all kinds of things and I also hear that it doesn't earn you enough money.

I wish I could have one of these careers.

Its extremely difficult to be successful in.

The amount of people who become famous compared to the amount of people who try is very very low.

You have to be the best. Every-time.

and not only that, but you have to be AMAZING at your instrument or be an amazing singer or actor. If you aren't the absolute best, you haven't a popsicle's chance in hell.

It's not a question of reliability.  It's not the smartest financial choice ... but it's the stuff that dreams are made of.  And since we only get one chance to do something we love in this world, why not do what we want.

If you know anyone who is looking for advice on their audition pieces for any BFA or even MFA programs, there's a great thing that a theater company in New York City is running called Audition Bootcamp.

They are all sorts of sessions with professionals (like casting directors, working actors, directors, agents, etc) in the business, some seminars, and even one on one time with people who can give you tips and advice on anything you might want to ask them.

I think those types of things are essential, and priceless.  Like Mastercard.  :-)

They give some pretty detailed information on their website:

Good luck with it all!

In some countries it doesn't matter how phenomenal you are, I'm afraid. :(
I had to reject being a professional violinist because if you don't have a relative in the conservatory, it's really torturing. When you graduate, it's hard to find a well-paid job, as well.
