If you know what an RA is and what they are supposed to do, does this description sound good or bad for someone being hired? "He is a really nice guy, very friendly. He always waves and makes a point to say Hi to you, even if he only met you once. He is very interested in learning about others, he has your full attention when you talk to him. He seems to like to learn. Clubs he is/was involved with include: a team captain of a sporting club, and is in a bodybuilding club on campus. He MAY be involved in something else, but is unknown at present.
He applied to be an RA last spring semester, but did not get the job. His friend said that he felt realllly confident he would get the job and was quite disappointed when he didn't. He is known to love living in the dorms and he figured being an RA was a good idea then. He assumed he would get the RA job without any problem.
He did not attend Residence Life programs last year - not seen at any. In fact, he stopped by during one 20 minutes late but awkwardly left 3 minutes later. He does not have the best idea of what an RA does, esp. with programming.
People have described him as very nice, stubborn, homophobic, pretentious, full of himself, strong willed in his beliefs, very extremely against alcohol, and funny/prankster."
Any thoughts? Would this person be a good candidate?
