Not sure if I spelled one of the words in the title right but oh well.

Who here has experience this? Its basically where you are "awake" but can't move or speak. All you can do is see stuff around you. Basically "scary" stuff, like shadow people, an old witch and in my case giant spiders.

So yeah.. sleep paralysis anyone?

It actually happens to everyone.
It occurs between waking and sleeping states, when the mind thinks the body is ready to be shut down. As you go further into it you'll start to see dream like hallucinations.

Most people just fall asleep and don't notice SP.

Sleep paralysis doesnt happen to everyone, it is an actual psychological condition stated in the DSM-IV (diagnotics and statistics manuel of mental disorders.)

only 1 in 1000 people have this condition and its is usually assosiated with insomnia or narcolepsy

yes well all during REM sleep go into paralysis so the body doesnt move around while we sleep how ever the term sleep paralysis refers to the condition in which this paralysis intrudes on wakefulness and can last anything up to 10 mins.

hmmm yesi did rather, okey let me see if i can word this better.

you said that sleep paralysis happens to everyone, this is untrue, what does happen is that we go into a form of paralysis during REM sleep to stop use from harming ourselves during sleep.

this is NOT the same is sleep paralysis which is a type of mental disorder and can be linked with narcalypse and insomnia where by a person will wake up and be unable to move, speak, and in some severe cases breath. The person can also experiance terrifying hallucianations during sleep paralysis, one such hallucination is that of 'the witch' where by the person believe as hooded figure to be in the room with them, this figure then jumps on top of the and holds them to the bed, during which the person feels as if they are being pinned to the bed. Most of the sleep paralysis attacks do not last more than a couple of minutes however in some cases it can go on forup to 10 minutes.

hope my point is clearer this time.
