When I was in grade 8 or 9 I went through a major cutting phase, which I'll admit was hardly justified.

And I was doing really well up until recently. 5 years without cutting, then last night something just set me off.
The amount of stress I had built up inside me was crippling, I don't sleep at night due to car collision related nightmares, school is terrible, and whatever I do nothing ever seems right.
Still the cutting was unjustifiable, I know.

But it felt so good. Like an entire weight was lifted off my shoulders, I was happy after that and had a better attitude toward everything. Until I realized that I had to tell my boyfriend.
He doesn't understand how it felt good, and how it relieved stress. To be honest neither do I.

Does anyone know how this appears to relieve stress and feel physically pleasing?
(Yes stupid decision I wont do it again)

It releases endorphins from your body when you cut
which in turn makes it feel good

stimulates your body to release adrenaline (fight or flight repsonse) and endorphins in your brain to make you think it doesn't hurt. My girlfriend is a cutter, hasn't done it in a few years, but once a cutter always a cutter, its an unfortunate, but kind of the way it is

So the painkiller in the endorphins are stronger than the pain inflicted from the blade?

Cutting works for some people.
It releases the endorphins in your body.
It Helps.

But its bad.
But myself and many other people do it anyway.
You just have to control it.

It's true for some people. It's not good but it's true. It's to do with endorphins

I needed to think about last night. So I galloped into a wooded glen,
and after punch-dancing out my rage,
and suffering an extremely long and very painful fall,
I realized what has to be done.
