I think you need to take another look at DTRM and then decide if you stand by that statement.

Half of it is overused 4chan memes.

i usually post sarcastic topics as opposed to just participating in 4chan crap

if thats the case i would be pleased to see all that 4chan shit gone

If someone posts a topic, and they seem to mess up the tags of a youtube video, having 2 pages of posts that say 'fail' basically ruin the topic. More than likely their op will be fixed, and the topic will be ruined because it is composed of all non-contributive posts. In those type of cases I think they should be trashed.
No.  People need to learn how the system works.  It should serve as an educational opportunity, next time they should get it right.

And if someone just makes a careless mistake, a quick edit usually suffices to save the topic before it gets out of hand

why the hell is it contributive if the topic is supposed to be about something

side conversations loosely pertaining to the topic are okay because thats part of dtrm's atmosphere but just saying 'fail' is utterly useless and repetitive

You're viewing the situation too harshly.

Everything does not have to be DIRECTLY on topic, especially when it relates to DTRM/random posts.  If you can figure out where a member is coming from, why I member would post something in that specific topic, then it probably contributes.

Apply that thinking to fail posts.  Why would a user post fail in a topic that links wrongly to a youtube video?  Because they failed to link correctly.

Thus, it applies.

thats why i said loosely, i just dont see why the hell anyone could logically or sensibly post that when they could click the failed video, imo its just 'being stupid' for no reason so its different

If you want to discuss whether or not 4chan stuff should be allowed make a topic pertaining to that in Feedback.

It's not the job of SL's to decide the rules.

Ok.

seriously.

Do not hid fail posts unless they are in a support forum. Lets start there.

If they are in a non-support forum, and offer a potentially valid opinion on the validity of the OP/situation in the OP, they are perfectly fine.

In general: do not delete posts simply because you dont like them/are annoyed by them etc. Be very careful to only hide posts that genuinely violating the guidelines.

its not just because i dont like them, theres plenty of shit i dont like that i dont think should be deleted (though honestly id like to see 90% of regular dtrm posters banned on sight if i could have it ideally), its just that this is pure stupidity and 4chan meme crap completely dilutes everything

From the SLG:

"It's been reached by a general consensus that Support Leaders are only to target the 'easy' stuff, by that we mean the posts that are quite grossly guideline breaking, such as promoting harm (in jest or not), posting of personal information, etc. In a sense, avoid the grey area postings, and focus more on the obvious. We aren't moderators, and our ability to handle serious situations can only go so far. Again, if you have a question or concern about a post, do not hesitate to message a moderator for clarification."

That's pretty solid advice for SLs. :)

I thought we were supposed to report the serious/"obvious" violations. Is this not the case now?
