So my lovely boyfriend decided to invite his director and the director's wife from his project over for dinner.

My friend said she would help me cook, but she is vegetarian!

So. I need to decide what to make 5 people - the vegetarian will just have salad if she must (she usually just eats cereal for dinner anyway).

No pasta or rice, they have had it on set all week.

I don't know what to make!! Plus I need wine too, and it has to go with the food. AHH

Usually people have pasta with wine, don't they? That's the first thing that pops into my mind when matching food with drinks anyway...

Maybe make some sort of casereole or meat dish (chicken?) with veggies?

oh, PS, this guy is huge. And his wife is Korean (I can't make Korean food). So I don't even know how much food to make for him. He is a native american, and works out daily....he is a giant!

Why not make it all vegetarian so she doesn't feel left out? There are plenty of good meals you can make that have no meat and I'm sure you could do without it. If you absolutely refuse sea food and steak is always a go and it's great on top of a salad so you wont have to have pasta or rice and the vegetarian will not feel left out at all.

Cous cous is a really fun lite alternative to pasta/rice. and relatively easy to prepare. It would go great with lamb, pork, or fish. you could do it mediteranean fairly simply.

pork is usually a red wine meat

fish is white wine,
and lamb can be both.

i can dig up some pretty cool easy mediteranean dishes for you?

You can never go wrong with pasta.
http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=pasta

That website is amazing, because it tells you the recipe AND notes how many stars it has.  There are also comments from the users, and they usually post about how it turned out.
