But the narrator said something like "At parties I gravitate towards the smoker because, in this day and age, they aren't smoking to be cool or fit in, they smoke because they aren't afraid of death"... or something to that extent.

Do you agree with this opinion?

For me, it seems that everyone worth knowing at the moment smoke and it isn't because it makes them look 'cool' (tbh, the 'cooler' you look, the more vapid you are), I actually don't know why but the people that I like (which is .1% of the population) smoke (as do I) can anyone think of a reason why this is?

no i think most people smoke coz they tried it through reasons like friends family image or curiosity and got hooked
