Extending the life of an otherwise pretty much dead person isn't?

Honestly, I actually want to know how that works.

You can euthanize someone who isn't brain dead.

Terminating their life is an action.
Not doing anything is not an action.

good point
but i think people think about extending life as giving a fighting chance until someone dies.. its really just looked at more positively because no lives get ended this way :/

Terminating their life is an action.
Not doing anything is not an action.

Hooking them up to life support is an action.

Do you propose we just let everyone who is sick just die?

Actually, yes it is.
Doing nothing is something.

Because the Bible dictates that only God is master of life and death. Medical Science isn't the only way to prolong your life, drinking more water as a result could prolong your life, it's when you try to cut it short, suicide and all that. Life is precious and should be honored.

Not necessarily: setting up a life support system is an action, and its also more similar to playing god than, say, hooking it up to the person in the first place...

I don't know. If my loved one were brain dead/extremely old and weak/in pain that couldn't be relieved I would consider it. It would be hard, but I would do it.

Thats a waste of money and its cruel
prolonging a life that is day to day pain and suffering
that is inhumane

You make a very good point there. I don't understand why euthanasia is illegal. It's your life, you should have the right to end it if there really is NO hope for you recover from some kind of illness.

Mercy killing is questionable too. I read about this guy who's daughter was pretty much a vegetable. She was bed-ridden, in pain, and otherwise couldn't do anything. He pumped carbon monoxide into his car that she was in and killed her, painlessly of course.

It's hard to say if you should have the right to speak for someone else to commit euthanasia if they are incapable of doing so.

What if you are not a Christian??
You believe that 'God' gave you free will, right? Well then you should be able to use it

Did I say I was against euthanasia? No, to the contrary, I think circumstantially it's the best course of action.
