She told him he was single. So my friend is in the clear. As for my former girlfriend. I don't even know if I want to speak with her.

wll she wont know that if you don't talk to her about it. Don't let her make you bitter. Better yet talk it out with your friend to try and figure out why she did this, and then work your way up to talking to her
