I was raised to be a gentleman and respect women. I also strive to be a good guy and I am. I've been told on many occasions that I'm a gentleman and "such a nice". Somehow I thought I would be liked for this...I am in the general since, but not so much when it comes to romance. I'm either never given a chance or I'm crushed. All for the sake of being with anybody else it seems.
In addition, I've noticed people don't seem to take me seriously. I'm not passive by any means, if people start crap with me I stand my ground. For crying out loud I'm a black belt, cage fighter, and in the army! Still, people choose to leave me out of serious situations.

What's the point of being a good guy if all you get is shit?

I've dated some total assholes and my really good friend (who sounds just like you) got dumped because he was "too nice".

I love good guys, they are the only ones I would ever date.
Guys that talk crap or treat me and others like crap, total turn off.

I am also considered a "good guy". I figure if I don't get a girl because she wants someone who's disrespectful but "cool" or "tough" (overusing the quotes a bit I guess), she can have him. It's worth it being the nice guy, you may just end up making someones day.

I think you should just continue on being nice to girls.  Although it's hard to find the right one, when you found it, it's worth the wait.  . I waited 3 years (3 years without a relationship) for my current relationship and that's what makes it extra special. . .
