Over the past 10 years (Im 18 in 2 weeks), I will semi-frequently experience hallucinations and delusions out of nowhere, combined with thoguhts of extreme paranoia and fear. such incidents as seeing a frightening figure looking at me, a wolf running towards me, ghosts, etc.
It wasn't until lsat night I really gave it any thought ,I would just brush it off as "well that was scary.. it was nothing. okay just forget about it" when I was lying in bed and realized I saw a cat sitting on my desk. I could see its head down to lick its body cleaning it and its tail wagging. but when I realized I don't own or haven't owned a cat, I went up to get close and it wasn't there.

Often I feel moments of paranoia where I think everyone hates me, and is against me and what they say is not what they think.

I'd rather not be told I have a mental illness, but atlest it would make sense of something

any thoughts?

No one wants to address with themselves they have a problem, but its something you have to accept.

Self diagnosis is not good, but not getting it treated if you do have it isn't good either.  I suggest going to see someone about it.   You aren't crazy, and it isn't your fault if you do have something wrong.  Things just happen sometimes.  Best of luck though.

If you had schizophrenia the paranoia would go beyond just thinking people hate you. Before I was put on drugs I thought my mother was trying to poison me and everyone I knew were cops and they were trying to put me away. I also had really disorganized thoughts and I couldn't speak.

I don't know enough about hallucinations though to really tell you what you could possibly have.

Have you done any drugs like LSD in the past?
And really, there might not be anything wrong with you at all.

I am not a doctor but it sounds like you have Paranoid Schizophrenia with hallucineginic (sp?) tendencies. This would explain both your paranoia and hallucinations. I understand that no one wants to have a mental disorder but it it better to accept it and get help then let it get worse. Schizophrenia is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and if not treated, and medications are usually highly successful, it can get worse which would mean the paranoia would increase, and the hallucinations could come more frequently, last longer, and be more frightening
