Ok, my parents are separated. I haven't seen my Dad since I graduated in June. It's December already. He called me the other day and was talking to me for like 5 minutes. My mom walked in and just had to ask who I was talking to. When I didn't answer she gave me a face and said she is going to turn off my phone.
To fix things, my dad called her and . . . well, all hell broke loose. She tells me not to answer my dad anymore. But my dad calls to see how my sisters and I are.
I listen to her, but I also want to listen to my dad. And supposedly, you have to listen to both. How can you choose?

i think that if you truly want to talk to your dad you should talk to your ma and tell her that you want to talk to your dad and she shouldnt tell you to not talk to him just because she got issues with him.

She won't listen. Everytime I bring it up, she just gets mad and avoids me. She says she is over my dad and has forgiven him. But from all of this, I know she hasn't. I tell her its not right for me to do this, that he is still my father and that I should still talk to him. But she still brings up the same things which causes me to avoid him, which I later change my mind again.

You have to be able to talk to both. You mom sounds VERY selfish, and frankly, you need to tell her that. No matter what happened in their marriage, he is your father and you have every right to talk to him.

Explain to your mom that her hard feelings towards your dad should not be pushed onto you. He is still your dad and if you want to talk to him then you should be able to talk to him. Your mom is probably hurt by him leaving or not being there...let her know that she shouldnt take her anger at him out on you.
