My dad is into computer networking. I don't know the first thing about it but from what he's told me it sounds like a pretty good deal. He's going to give me all of his books for the course for a self-study so I can just go pay for the A 1 certification instead of all the classes plus the certification like he has to. I don't know how well this pays or how hard it is to learn but I'm game to try it. I was wondering if anyone had any information on what it actually is that I'd be doing.

Also my grandpa is a computer programer and that's what I really wanted to get into. But it's alot of training and right now I don't have time with my 17 month old unless I could do it online and even then I'm not sure I'd make enough to pay for the courses. So would it be better to just get the A 1 certification (Windows) first and then pursue programing later or should I just jump at my chance to learn programing and get it over with?

it pays really well if you get into a good business that does it and you can find some beginner programs online and maybe even get your degree on line then take specific classes on ce your baby gets older. by the way congrats on your baby. :D (17 months late)

Hi,

Having a full blown IT background could be a plus point for your career. I advise you to choose programming over networking, as they former gets paid more than the later. You can even earn by working at home (freelancing). Best wishes for the future.
