I hear talk about reviving the Goldwater movement, but is that really what people want? Goldwater was a war hawk, and he thought that uber-capitalism was the way to go. I think it's becoming increasingly obvious through recent events of business abuse that any hierarchy is dangerous. Any.

Granted, I think both Republicans and Democrats (politicians, not necessarily people, although it's coming to that point) are idiots.

Liberalism - too reliant on federal government and big business..
Neo-conservatism - too reliant on big business and executive powers.
Conservatism - too reliant on state governments and big business.

Whenever I ask them why they believe in certain issues such as the war in iraq, or why Bush is such a good president, they can never give me real reasons without sounding ignorant, racist, greedy, etc.

Therefore i've concluded that most, if not all members of the GOP are idiots.

Where's the problem in that? "Classical" conservatism was doomed to begin with. It postulates that big business isn't a problem. That's obviously untrue. And classical conservatism was very reliant on states' rights - which should have been discredited circa 1865 when the federal government took up the reigns of power and whipped slavery and most of the religious-preference laws out of the country.
