Israel is surrounded by nations that absolutely despise them and would attempt to wipe them off the face of the earth if they don't stand up for themselves. There's a good reason why they want to destroy Israel. Israel's been engaged in a 60 year war with financially and technologically inferior Palestine, a state of Islam. Israel is self identified as the Jewish state, and religions clash naturally. There's a lot of tension there. Yes, these days, Israel cannot stop being militarily prepared, but that's a problem they made for themselves when they saw the need to expand their territories by force.

I actually think that BBC is pretty biased.
I don't think any news source t be trusted entirely.
If you want to go to extremes, then go to al jazeera and then go to the jerusalem post.

Also, the only reason more israelis aren't dying, is because they hide in bomb shelters.
Somehow israeli homes are destroyed and people don't die.
The only reason is because when they hear a bomb siren go off, they go to their "safe-rooms".
Almost every israeli building has one.

Well I think it does mater that they were democratically elected. I thought that was what the west was for? I don't think we can pick and choose when we want democracy, just because we don't like who was elected. Recognise the government and then hold them accountable if they break international laws.
