Think that the condition of Africa is African peoples fault and that they should fix their poverty issues themselves. I have to disagree with this because a lot of people think of it as a non moral issue. Like they think it's " Why should we waste our time helping Africa? It's not like we will benefit off of it." Well usually if you have a soul, it would be morally right to put effort in helping people who are suffering from famine, disease and other poor living conditions. I mean people may think it's a waste of time but in my opinion if you are a human being with a soul you would do it just because it is morally right. It shows how much the world really cares for people if it has nothing to do with money. Now there are many people that go to help Africa and other places of poverty in the country. That's really great but a lot of people think that that's good enough. I mean I don't think people realize how much our country could help places like Africa if we weren't so greedy and bent on war. The U.S.A is a great example of a Money Maniac country that would take lives just for profit. I mean if you think Africa is going to flourish without some aid then your living in a dream world. THEY NEED MORE HELP. No, not because there's gonna be money for us if we do, not because we owe them. WE should do it because we should help other people. That's what needs to happen. There are Americans who see that and care. Others though seem to be in that state of mind that "if there's no reason of benefit to me, then I will not help save lives." Also you know what happens when people do help Africa? This is what happens. When Oprah Winfrey build a school for girls in Africa, you actually got some people who said " Why can't she do that for people in America? Why Africa?" I mean that's just heartless. America obviously has more than Africa as far as education opportunities. I mean not to say anything that might get some white people angry but there are a good number of white people that grow bitter at a black person having something. Like one time my mom)we are black) had a rental car. This white guy who was our neighbor came rushing out and said " Is that your car?". When my mom said no he was like "That's a relief". Then they hassled us over the phone as if they are so amazed that we had a car like that and that they were grateful that it wasn't really ours. There are many more incidents like that. I mean on a sort of off topic note, I don't mind if I complement a white person or say that there are white people that are smart. Though a lot of times when you complement some white people, they will take that and run with it and say things like " Whites are the smartest, that's why or " whites are the prettiest race, that's why, blacks are ugly." I mean when blacks are complimented, they don't take that and run with it as much as a white person would. Mainly because of a point of view. Black people can be more insecure and be grateful when complimented. Then there are some white people that already think they are in a way better, then when a person of another race compliments them it's like the icing on the cake to them. Back on topic though. People need to stop saying " Black people suck, their mainland is a shithole!" Cause you know, whites colonizing in Africa didn't help when they mined diamonds and lived in the better and richer parts of Africa while the natives of the land suffered. I just wanted to say that =/

Why are you targeting America? there are other countries that could help, why does America have to help everyone? We have every right to just think about ourselves.

American isn't made purely of white people. There is a large black population that's part of America too that probably aren't doing anything to help the population in any other country either. That was one thing that stuck out in your post... was how it was all, more or less, pointing towards white people being the main cause of this. Ultimately, I see no difference between race (although there are some clear biological differences). To say that black people take compliments and don't run with it is a general statement. You can't encompass every single person based off only a few that you may have encountered. Some people are racist, that's a fact. Not every American would be upset if someone of a different race had something more than them. As well, what is the statistical amount of 'so many white people'. The region you live in also typically has trends on these views. There are MANY Americans in the world... can you say percentage wise that most are the way you are describing them? In terms of it being morally correct to help other countries. Morality is all in the eye of the beholder... and ultimatel, politics all comes down to money. People can only do so much, and it can't be a single-handed effort to help an entire population. Simply put, some people don't care... and it's quite clear that America doesn't have all the money in the world right now to support another country entirely. Don't get me wrong... I would love to help out people, and I do think they should have consideration. Some people, just don't give a damn, and that's too bad... but others do, and they can only do so much.

European colonization and exploitation kind of screwed them over to begin with, but unstable governments and psycho dictators have perpetuated the situation. I mean, it would be wonderful if there was an easy solution to all the world's problems. It would be wonderful if we could suddenly cure AIDS and feed all the starving children in the world and overthrow all the dictatorships, but we can't. We can do pathetically little in the scheme of things. There's no magical panacea, just little steps we can take to ensure that day-to-day life is a little bit easier for people. There's nothing we can do to magically turn their lives and their countries completely around.
