My anole is sick (anole=small lizard, doesn't matter that much though). He's had an eye infection which originated from a cricket bite and him scratching himself. The eye is okay now, kinda and the skin has healed.
Last night I came home and saw him curled up in the corner of the tank all brown (not supposed to be brown) and had thought that he died. But he was moving and I was actually able to get two wax worms into him.
Today he's really bad. Like, he just sits there with his mouth open, sometimes breathing so hard it looks like his ribcage is going to tear open and he doesn't really move. Sometimes he stops breating and moving and looks absolutely dead (like right now), but he's not because if I poke him, he moves again.

It's 10PM, a vet is out of the question atm. Do you people know of ANYTHING I can do to help him? I'm sure there is someone out there who knows something about this.

Please help!

Sorry, I don't know much about lizards, but there might be an online site, or someone who you can e-mail who is awake.

Aw, I wish I could help. It sounds to me like he's pretty sick, I'd say the best you can do (unless you get better advice, I'm no expert) is to leave him be an keep him comfortable until you can get help from a professional.

i really don't know what to tell you.
i used to have anoles, and the same thing happened to them (only crickets didnt hurt them).
unfortunately mine died :(.
but maybe just wait it out until tommorow, and call the vet.
if i may make a recomendation though, maybe try feeding them dead crickets. if you feed them mealworms/waxworms that are live, cut their heads off.
i had problems with them before, because sometimes they will nibble on the lizards feet and hurt them.

Well, I have 2 anoles and one is really fat and then there is this guy (who used to be fat, but started rapidly loosing weight which I blamed on stress from my cats and changed his tank - it helped a bit). He won't eat right now, I've tried force feeding him and he won't even try to chew on the worms. I gave him some water but that didn't really get far.
I'm not sure he'll make it until tomorrow morning :(

I'm sorry to hear about your anoles :(
