Ok, let me make it clearer in this topic about the problems I am experiencing.

I am trying to install the sims 2 university on my laptop. I already have the sims 2, nightlife and pets already installed.

I have all the above games and sims 2 university installed on another computer, but that was 2 years ago when I installed them. Since then the university disc has become very scratched which is probably the root of the problem. There is plenty of space on my laptop.

So the problem is:

I put in disc 1 to install university, it gets to 23% and then stops, and tells me theres a problem copying a particular file and it asks me to retry or cancel, it doesnt work when I retry so I am fore to cancel the installation.

I think it cant copy the file b/c the disc is scratched.

I tried making  acopy of disc one but it doesnt install it properly, it just crashes when I loaded it and it asked for disc 2 far too early which meant it isnt installing the majority of whats on disc one.

So is there any way around this?

Could I somehow copy all the installed files off the other computer and put them on my laptop?

Anyone got any ideas?
