I hate when people criticize sports of a different country.

Typically this refers to football, both American Football and what we call soccer.  English people typically consider American Football to be a wimpy version of rugby, and Americans just consider soccer to be a boring, low scoring game with not much excitement.

But I ask, anyone who criticizes any one of these sports, has anyone here actually played both of them?  Take it from someone who actually has played both of them for my high school; one or the other might seem simplistic now because you were raised on the other sport, but both sports take a tremendous amount of skill and talent to pull off, and they're both very physical, and very tough games.  You really can't understand it until you play.

Hockey is better than both of them anyway.  >_>

Before you criticize, suit up and play them.  :)

try gaelic football, one of the fastest field games in the world. full contact, no shinguards or any of that shit, no complaining if you get tackled. not a game for the weak-hearted. try hurling too, that IS the fastest and one of the toughest field games in the world, and they're both irish :).

I have played american football and rugby and can fairly criticize that i find rugby tougher, however american football requiring more effort, purely because i havent played american football as much as rugby.

my dad used to be a professional Gaelic football player and was the only English guy on the team ^_^ ( well he's quarter Irish) but i would say that rugby is a tougher sport than American football plus i dont like how American football is so stop-start i find Rugby more free flowing.

My my main per peeve is the name American FOOTBALL , i just dont understand how they came to the conclusion of that name

American football would be funner if they had less time between each play, especially between change of possession, less people allowed to play per game (say 30 or 25 instead of 40) and softer padding

if i said ''i love gaelic football and hurling for the sole reason they're irish'', that would be biased. i merely stated the facts- 1) gaelic football and hurling are two of the fastest filed sports in the world and 2) they're irish. your ability to differenciate between being biased and being factual is quite blurred.

Correction, i studied critical thinking for 2 years. I can clearly see between bias and non bias. Try again when you learn more.
