i can't trust people to enable me to have a deep and close relationship/friendship. no matter how hard i try, the thought of being rejected in the future is dominant in my mind. usually i leave them before they leave me, just to avoid the rejection i'm very paranoid about.

I'd tell you to talk to a counselor, but that would be too hypocritical, so I guess you should always just know that confidence is harder to reject than shyness. Saying that still makes me a hypocrite but eh, w/e.

I keep people distant too. I don't really know what to tell you besides keep trying. For me, it's hard to see the good in people when all I can see is the bad. This type of thing is different for everyone.
