I am making a video where there is a backing track, and different clips of people singing lines from a song.

Because of this, I won't be recording in order, and so I'll need to be placing the clips bit by bit on the timeline, since some lines won't be recorded til later

However on Movie Maker and Virtual edit, there is no way you can do this unless you put a video in temporarily before the line, to hold the timeline in place

I need to be able to put videos on a timeline with nothing infront of them, so I can gradually slot in the clips

Any thoughts?
