Anniversaries don't mean crap to guys, they're one of those sentimental womanie things that don't actually have meaning. Besides, have you ever thought about the meaning of an anniversary? All it means is you haven't broken up yet. If you celebrate every (insert desired increment of time) that you stay together, it says you weren't expecting to stay together that long. If you are in a high-speed chase with Columbian drug lords, if and when you get out of the chase safely, you might say you're glad to be alive. That makes sense, because you were just in a situation with a high risk of your life ending. But, do you thank God you're alive every time you get off the can? No? That's because there's no reason to assume you're gonna die taking a dump.*

To celebrate the continuity of a relationship is pessimistic. Normally I am in favor of pessimism, but in a serious relationship you should assume that you will be together for the forseeable future. Otherwise, why would you be together? Celebrating every year (or month, or whatever) that you're together implies you weren't expecting it to last that long.

I swear sometimes you make no sense! Anyways, my bf remembers anniversaries really well, well the monthly stuff and NO it doesnt mean we didnt expect to be togetha that long, it means that we love eachother enough to make it through all the hell we been put thru

And I can beat all ya chicks, I been away from ma sweetie 3 1/2 mos.  :(

Anyways, family NORMALLY (not always) is more imp. esp if its like bcuz his fam has a lot goin on, but if its like a year or somethin, id be kinda upset unless he planned on celebratin wit me l8a, lol.. which i think u said..
