I go to Hampshire College in MA. As far as experimental education goes, it's one of the best schools around. I only applied to 5 schools- Hampshire, Reed, Knox, Earlham, and Beloit. I really didn't go for a school with a huge reputation, but a lot of that had to do with the application process. To be honest, I probably could have gotten into my choice of schools, but it had more to do with my uniqueness as a candidate than fantastic grades or test scores (I had a 2.8 GPA with a full IB diploma and a 2120 on the SAT).

I was supposed to go to Stanford, but I decided that I wanted to go to Berkeley instead, and now this isn't gonna work out some I'm going to U London probably. I missed first semester because of family drama but I'm already at almost 3rd year status at most American Universities. I dunno about U London, I'll just have to make up a lot of work I guess. What else is new.

You do realize your opinion holds absolutely no weight in your deciding who is applicable or not in being selected to Universities? I forget.. have you actually graduated high school yet, or are you already assuming you're God's gift to academia without having fully cut your teeth in it already?

Oh, so, second/third-hand knowledge is now permissible whenever trying to better one another over the forum? I'll play the elitist card with you and say, "If only you were already IN college, then you could make a better argument over the selectivity of most prestigious universities." On a minor note, I've known more than my fair share of IB students from high school who dropped college altogether or flunked out due to too much drinking, but does that make me an expert over who'll graduate? Certainly not.
