I HATE VISTA. I have a personal vendetta against that programme. My mum got it installed on our computers at home when it first came out. I came back from uni to discover that it had deleted all my compositions and sibelius files because it didn't support sibelius.
 I was NOT impressed.

That's you and your mom's fault. You should have checked to see if it was compatible first.

No one told me they were changing the computers at home to Vista. It just happened one day. I came home at the holidays to find my work gone.

It has some small quirks I don't like, but on the whole I think it's pretty cool, a huge improvement over XP. I still wouldn't switch from OS X though.

I got it, and I haven't really experienced any problems with it, that I can think of.

I disabled UAC after a week, which got rid of my only problem with it. I also run the odd XP-era game in compatability mode just to be sure, although they work fine normally anyway.

edit: And I like the way it looks :P.

I have not experience many problems that are not 3rd party developer's fault.  Disable UAC and it's good.

Oh well... Who ever doesn't like it are probably going to be a bit stuffed over the next few years... Once windows 7, based in the vista kernal, is released and XP support is dropped people are going to have to make the move.

Vista has a slight downfall in that it has been given a bad name for its beta. I have the home basic and it has never done any of the stuff that people say it does. I agree with you that authorization is abit over the top but im sure somehow you are able to disable a few of them by the control panel. If anyone does have XP i recommend upgrading to Vista as it is nothing like what people claim it to be.

I don't like Vista simply because it is a resource hog.  My computer was running fine on it.  I hated Vista so I installed Windows XP and it is running 2x faster now.

I use Vista, have been for almost 12 months. Can't imagine life without it. I think it's better than XP, but I still use XP on old Cyril (who, surprisingly, runs XP even though he's about eight or nine years old) and at school (stupid Education Department haven't approved it yet).

I mean, it's not business ready, especially for things such as point of sale, where anything with a Celeron and 512MB of RAM and a puny 20GB hard drive will do - where I work, all the computers run Windows 2000. At one of the local supermarkets, they still run Windows NT 4.0 on all of their registers (It's quite sad I know this, really), and a hardware store runs XP on theirs. Point of Sale systems don't need bucketloads of horsepower. Vista needs quite a bit. Therefore, Point of sale isn't for Vista systems... yet.

Hoever, the City Council here has an almost completely Vista network. The library doesn't have Vista computers, because the program they use, Spydus, doesn't like it, so they reverted to XP. They don't complain about it (although they did when Spydus wouldn't work).

My friend moans about it, but I just ignore him (he was also stupid enough to buy 4GB of RAM when he only had a 32bit version of Vista, even though I told him that he was wasting $150, and he wants me to spend that extra money on something I'll never use in new computer: uhm, I think not? I like to use my money for things that I use).

The only real issue I have with it is that there is no seemingly obvious way to enable Classic logon (Can't stand the welcome screen), if at all. But I'll cope.
