Israeli citizens are prepared, that's all. We have air raid sirens and bomb shelters in every building. We've been taught what to do if there's ever a bomb. So when the rockets come a flying, we just hop on into the shelters where we keep our emergency food and water and relax.

The difference is that Israel isn't TARGETING civilians.

Hamas is.

I'm not saying I agree with the Israeli government's decisions and actions, but the constant Qassams shot at Sderot and surrounding communities daily just got too high. We started complaining to our government, wtf. We're under attack. Can you, uh, stop the rockets, kay? And now the governments well, doing something, even if it's not what I'd have suggested.

I'm not looking for an argument, I just wanted to add a few points for thought.

Lol. Well, the reason for the high death toll is up there. But like I said, I'm not responsible for my government's actions.  

If your city was being shelled by your own tanks and jets and bombs, your death toll would be just as high or higher than the palestinians, pretending that they aren't used to being attacked is outright stupid.

They are shooting shoulder fired rockets at you, you are shelling their homes with tanks, dropping bombs on their schools and destroying their mosques. There's a huge difference in level of force being used, don't pretend that somehow isrealis would be just fine if an attack of the same scale hit them, that's a joke.

When tanks are shelling civilian homes, and more than 20% of the deaths are civilian, it's rather difficult to claim that Israel is not "targeting" civilians. At the very least, Israel is firing indiscriminant of whether or not it's hitting civilians, and that's just as bad.

Israel definitely is not targeting civilians, I can promise you that. I have friends who are in the air force. =/ But yeah, they're bombing really populated areas, and it's impossible not to have civilian casualties. But they target Hamas militants and officials.

I didn't say they're not used to being attacked, they just aren't prepared by their government as we are.

Bombing heavily populated areas because hamas targets might be there is still knowingly murdering civilians, and therefore the same as "targeting" them.

That like if a terrorist leader was in an american walmart, so american forces blew up the walmart and then said "well the terrorist was in there."
