I dont really consider it offensive. The only term I honestly consider offensive is nigger...coon...spook...all that. Negro means black in spanish. Whats the big deal. ???

I was listening to some guys talking about the term on the channel POTUS on my satelite radio the other day and it got me wondering how people view the term.

1) Do you consider term "Negro" offensive?

2) Why do you consider it offensive (or not offensive)?

3) Do you believe that those who use the term are more than likely racist? Why?

1. No

2. It reminds me more of an old time word that 80 year olds use nowadays.

3. No - just old.

I don't find the term "Negro" offensive on some cases. I'd rather have a person call me a "negro" than a "nigger".

Meh my mom says it just to joke around lol

But I don't see why others want to argue saying the proper term is negro and not black. I think some just want to call blacks negro just to cause irritation. It's an outdated term.

Hello i know this is an old thread but i like these kinds of topics. <br> First the word negro itself is completely not racist, negro is actually Spanish for black its just through time become a derogatory word for a black person and that's where it becomes offensive. its the same as gay and faggot, gay originally meant happy then through history its moved to homosexual and more recently its started being used as a term for something that is lame or bad, fagot as it originally is spelt actually means a bundle of sticks but through time its become commonly used as an offensive term for homosexuals, theres tonnes of words like this, that their meanings have been morphed through time.
