I ask people how old they are all the time, I work at a nursing home and it is hard to tell how old some of the people who live there are, so I ask.

It is because "old" is associated with being decrepit, not in touch with the times, unable to adapt, forgetful, and unable to take care of oneself.

people don't want to get older, because everything is downhill. everything sags, and you cant get away with much, plus everyone expects you to be mature.

People laugh when old people pull shit like this all the time and everyone goes "Awwww, she just didn't know what she was doing!" but they know exactly what they're doing. They've finally gotten to the level of being able to say fuck all to self-consciousness and exploit our underestimation of them.

True but I don't think people are old until they are over the age of 80, but that's because in my line of work I have met people that were over 95 yrs old, I used to care for a woman that was 104, I think aging is beautiful, Once I start going gray I'm gonna stop dying my hair, I think wrinkles are beautiful. How someone looks when they are old can tell you a lot about their life.

See people can have their right sound mind until the die, but their body can't go on any longer, and then you get the people who's mind gives up years before their body does (Alzheimer's Disease.)
