Otherwise, I'd say just wait. If you can use them for their purpose and not to get high it shouldn't be a problem. This may be harder then it sounds, however.

If you didn't get high, it wouldn't work, so you already know what you do with this substance and now it's your choice to use it or not. It's going to end the same, even worse once prescribed since you can get it easily and then would have a excuse to use. Withdrawals are no fun and once you stop using, your anxiety is just going to be worse since it's not helping you learn how to deal with it.

Drugs are not the answer, but you'll learn that for yourself.

Well if you want your doctor to label you as a evil drug abuser who then will not prescribe you anything that works, then go for it.
