Hey everyone. I have a 10-year-old female purebred greyhound dog whom we really do love. She's been acting sick for the past 2 days and I can't help but worry about her. Her belly has been making funny sounds all the time and she has eaten very little today and yesterday. I tried calling the local vet's office, but unfortunately my mom was out and I don't drive yet so nothing I could do. Is my dog going to be okay?? I sure hope so, she's the best dog in the world. She's whined about how her belly hurts and hasn't been acting playful like she usually does. She's been lying down on her bed all day. Does anyone have advice for me? The closest vet is like 20-25 minutes away and my mom refuses to drive her that far away! Thanxx

I was totally expecting this thread to say, "licked my balls."

Anyway, she may have eaten something bad, or accidentally swallowed something she shouldn't have. If it wasn't food, it may not be digesting.

Or she could just be sick.

She needs to go to a vet.

She might just have belly ache.

If it doesn't go away, take her to a vet.

She might just have gas, or is on the verge of Diarrhea.
Yeah I know it's gross, but when my dogs are sick like that, all they do is just sit around and whine all day.
I'm pretty sure it's perfectly normal :)

I agree. Usually if dogs are ever ill, they're good at fighting it off and getting better by just resting. If it was something serious, you would know by now. By the sound of the symptoms, to me it sounds as if her tummy hurts a little. Obviously if she gets worse and shows more bad signs, then I would call the vet. Give it a couple of days and see what happens, but I reckon she'll be ok :) Just keep an eye on her.
