It makes me laugh when people think countrys (no matter what country) allows their commands/soldiers to shoot anyone and everyone. Civilian casualties are inevitable in an area as densely populated as Gaza. That and your playing right into the hands of Hama's and other radical groups that use civilians as shields to begin with. Egypt won't open the borders because the higher the civilian death toll the worse Israel looks. All politics.

Well because maybe Hama's was launching missles into Israel after Israel gave that land up to them and over time the death toll would have been far over what it is now. Egypts not covering for Israel, they won't open the borders so the civilians have to stay in Gaza so they can die and make Israel look worse.

Doesn't matter for Egypt really, the Middle Eastern countrys will do what they do best and spin it so that Egypt some how looks like it did the right thing. Doesn't matter what the west thinks of Egypt. They also want the government in Gaza replaced with a more Egypt friendly one, they can't lose in this situation. Oh yeah, and the US had slavery 200 years ago so we look bad. And Germany had the holocaust a long time ago so they still look bad i guess. And Iraq used chemical weapons on its own population a long time ago. And Iran used its civilian population as cannon fodder in their war on Iraq a long time ago. Really you can't sit there and hold the past against a country. A country's policies and attitudes change with every new leader. Besides when your Israel and surrounded by people that believe if they kill a Jew (soldier or not) they'll get 72 virgins and be a hero they kind of have to act aggressively to survive. Then again im guessing your Arabian and biased towards the other view point.
