I don't get it.

Shall we all just get videos of loud, ignorant people from all creeds and of all colours? And again, I'm surprised. Do you respond to ignorance with more ignorance? And do you justify your own failings but blaming it on the failings of others?

And one doesn't have to assume, there is enough American history for us all to read.

There are racists in Canada, as there are everywhere, but I'd be careful to watch your hypocrisy in trying to give Canadians a label that you really can't attest to. If we cannot attest to Americans, why should you attest to knowing about Canada?

There are racists in allparts of the country yes, but there is slightly more of an imbalance in the South.

New york and LA are bad for it, but the South just has a bit more. And I have been down there, twice. I didn't like it.

^ What I meant was, Canadians and other ppl from places that don't have a lot of black ppl like to acuse Southerners as being racist, when they themselves have not been around a large number of black ppl. They have no idea how they would react or act around a lot of black ppl. So they can't go and acuse people of being racist. It's easy to say "I have nothing against _____" when you hardly know any. I bet that if a Canadian spent 1 semester in a Memphis City School, their whole view about black ppl would be changed. Im not saying they would be racist, but they would be able to see it from a whole different perspective. The South isn't all about whites hating blacks for no reason. It's much more complex and you have to experience it for yourself before you judge.

"Hang around black people long enough and you'll not like them".

Which is wrong and just purely conjecture because racism is fairly easy to understand. Stop trying to make it seem like Americans have some unique brand of hatred that no one else has ever shared and that a Canadian moving to Memphis City would automatically have a different opinion. If a Canadian already has an enlightened and understanding opinion,

I'm fairly sure I know the "reasons", and I'm fairly sure the South doesn't "hate" blacks (well, not the entirety), but I'll like to hear your version of accounts. This just sounds like justification to me.

I think you are trying to be coy here. What would be the different perspective? What would be the generalization I would so willingly succumb to?

And excuse me but you act as if Canada doesn't have any black people. I live in Toronto, as does my Torontonian comrade who posted before me and there are loads of black people in our city. Schools are loaded with them. Of course, they are not African-American, and they have a variety of ethnic circles but that doesn't degrade the fact that they are black. I go to an inter-city school; where is my hate for all my Chinese-Canadians in my area?

Did you know 49% of Toronto is ethnic? I don't mean just black. Asian, African, Muslim, Mixed, anything you can imagine.

Basically what i'm saying is, it's easy to say you don't dislike a group when there are hardly any in your area. If a Canadian moved to Memphis, they'd begin to see why some white ppl here have something against black ppl. They will begin to see why white ppl choose to move further and further to the suburbs to avoid schools that are predominately black in the inner city. They will begin to see why white ppl try to stay out of predominately black neighborhoods. I can just imagine an "enlightened" Canadian moving down here and trying to be liberal and non-racist so they send their kid to a school that is 100% black. After a month, they'll probably take their child out of that school. I encourage all Canadians to try this.
