Ok right now stop doing that. Also if it is under warranty she can send it back. With U switch back and forth it is going to ruin Ur charger and U don't want that. It could be a virus but U never know. She needs to get her laptop look at.

Well, if anything it will ruin the battery--not the charger. For some reason her computer just isn't accepting the power cord even though it has a perfectly functioning battery.

The battery is not the problem! It is the computer itself that is not accepting the power cord. I know that batteries get weaker with age, mine used to last for three hours but now it can only go without power for like 45mins.

Have you tried a different AC adapter? If so, the ac port is fucked/something has come loose, and needs to be disassembled and repaired.
