Not just to girls, everyone. Money is a big deal. If you're not in anything serious or don't plan to have anything in life and want to live without all those cool awesome stuff your parents have, then yeah, money means nothing. Who cares, everyone can afford those cardboard boxes from the officestore.. well, maybe not, they're like $8 each. So money is a big deal, you may not think so yet, but if the guy or gal isn't making money or doesn't have any, who's gunna pay for anything? You? Hah.. welcome to one of the BIGGEST reasons for fights in a relationship.

Money IS important for women since the beginning of humanity. Just remember how a prince approached a princess, with all these horses carrying carts full of jewels, animals, food, etc. The princess would then choose the guy with more bling. Women make it sound nice when they say "All I want is the guy to be financially secure, financially good, with a career, etc." which all goes down to money really. Is it bad? I am not sure, I think its just a tradition. Tell me how often you see a rich guy without a date. Any guy with fat pockets and a cool car can walk alone to a party/club/bar/etc. and drive home with a girl or two. Have two all around nice guys approach a girl but one of those guys has all this money, coolest car ever, great job, etc. While the other guy is a janitor. Who will the girl choose? No rocket science needed really. We even see it in the animal kingdom where, say, you'll have a bird that stocks more food and all. You'll see female birds lift their tails to the male's face, do a dance to seduce him, and so on. It's funny but not so different from humans.
