no, they were not waiting for me, yes they were grazing in the grass on the side of the road; i'vee seen then grazing a few times during teh day

Normally i would disagree with you but i see where your coming from with this one you were driving slower becasue you were high taking everythign in then when the deer jumped out you were going slow enough to stop and did in time. so everyone jsut leave him alone.

The point is that if you had been going at the speed limit you would have encountered a deer at a completely different time, and thus, likely, not while they were crossing the road.

It's a 3.5 mile drive, so  it would be a matter of seconds
