uh yeahh.
do you think the words hubris and selfish are similar or completely different ?

I need personality traits for Creon in the play Antigone.
These are supposed to be 2 different ones, idk if it works.

the definitions u gave us are even different, selfishness is doing something for yourself and hubris (im just guessing by what i just read) is when you're into yourself

Selfishness could also mean being into yourself.

whaat? but hubris is more like, being into yourself way too much.. and selfish isn't being into yourself as much as just wanting things for yourself.. i don't know there's a definite difference there i just cant really explain it

No I know what you mean. They are distantly related, in my opinion. That's really it.

Selfish is pretty obvious- doing something in your own self interest...that doesn't mean you think of yourself with hubris (hu⋅bris
excessive pride or self-confidence; arrogance)

For instance, someone with completely low opinion of himself could still be and act selfishly. On the other hand, someone with hubris could take the attitude "Oh, I am so great, so wonderful, I give millions of dollars to charity every year and help out at the soup kitchen every Tuesday. It's really just because I'm so wonderful!"

It's just what I chose. I need three, and all i thought of was malicious, hubris, and selfish. I could use like desperate, but idk.
