Totally depends if it's like a fast food place or a sit-down restaurant.

At a nicer place, I think a combination of "it's kind of sad that they're alone" and "good for them for doing what they want, by themselves, and not being self-conscious or worrying about people judging."

I don't make judgments about people eating alone. I do it a lot when I need to study or get some work done without being bothered- and if I just so happen to need to eat food too, well then... I guess I'll eat alone :)
