It did last night and when I clicked to connect it said make sure that it was in reach of the signal (or something like that) and another thing about having the matching information on my laptop that is from the router. Since I'm not good with computers, I have no idea where to check what information they are talking about.

Any help?

Check both are on WPA2 and both wep keys are the same.

These can both be found on your ISP's website with your login, the site is different for all ISP's but if you search on google you should find it.

As for the matching information, I think all that means is that your IP/DNS address is the same (which should be done automatically with all routers now unless someone's manually configured it) and that you've entered the password correctly. But if you can't even connect then I don't see how that would be much of a problem.

And the information from the website I can't get because I don't know the login in details.

Oh the exact thing it says is;

Make sure your computer is in range of "__________" and that the network settings match the wireless router or access point settings.

Try restarting both your router and your laptop. Sometimes something crashes on either device and it can mean that it's not working properly.

Did it used to work before or is this the first time you've tried it? It could be that your laptop's wireless card doesn't like your router, especially if either are configured at 802.11n speeds. I know my Xbox 360 hates any Apple-made routers and never connects.

Being too close might also be a problem, try it from a few feet away, though from what you've described I doubt it's going to help much.

Well its showing up now on the "connect to network". But when I do connect this comes up.

It has always been connected to this router since I got my laptop.

well for my router there's like a little tiny reset button on the back of it. and usually when i have problems with it, i push that button and i can connect to it again

You can restart your router by logging into the control panel of its web interface, but you can achieve the same thing by just unplugging it from the mains power socket and then plugging it back in again.

If it's always been connected I can't see any specific reason it'd make this happen.

Hm, did that and its still not working.

Sometimes its connecting. But when I got onto firefox, the page will not load and it will disconnect.

I think that my best bet is to call my Internet provider and see what they can do for me.
