I've been told this is not appropriate to post in the religion forum so I'll give it a go here... After recent events I wondered what everyone's views on young people involved in scientology are. Does it do more harm than any other 'religion'. Interesting piece on a teen site here- http://readplatform.com/scientology-ruined-my-life

Scientology is fine, and if you want to stop it you are challenging freedom of religion.

I think it does do more harm that other 'religions'. It actually encourages people to spend huge sums of money on BS. It also relies on L. Ron Hubbard's solutions for many illnesses, most of which are ineffective.

Do keep in mind I want to stop scientology though, but not in a forceful way. By exposing it as a fraud, the same I wish to do with Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

More harm? Wait... Look at the Muslims, once and a while they blow themselves up. or the Christians through the years, have killed alot. Then we have the Jewish religion, which used to commit cannibalism and that type of stuff.

You can't just compare it to Islam like that. Now if Scientology were to be scaled up to the size of Islam, I believe it would cause more harm, yes. And Jewish Cannablism is no more than a legend. Possible, but unlikely.

Islam can be compared like that.
I know it doesnt sound right, but Im doing the same thing you are doing about Scienology, just making assumptions.

That's exactly what everyone needs to do in these cases. There aren't any statistics for how many people someone or something has killed / ruined.
