I just don't understand why SOME black people (not ALL i realize this...) don't help themselves by acting like big tough guys who don't know a word of english.
It may be just in my community, but a lot of African Americans here walk around and try to look tough all the time, and when they open their mouths their grammar is worse than a two year old (a two year old who knows a lot of smut). They blast music about sex, drugs, stealing, money, and just basically disrespecting women. I know other music has some pretty questionable material, but no other music degrades women like hip hop does. and what boggles me the most, is they do ALL of these things, and then they complain when they don't get my respect. I just don't... get it.
Act like the educated person you are, learn to speak correctly, don't listen to things that degrade my gender, and don't walk around threatening me and other people, and maybe you will get my respect. I KNOW that this doesn't describe all african americans, but it does describe the majority in my neighborhood. I just... don't get it.

Wow. I know more white people like this than black people. I am also around well spoken black people. My husband is black and his entire family is educated and well spoken. I am not a fan of ghetto people, as a whole. I don't care if they are white, black, or purple polka dotted.

Ok I agree with you about a lot of those things, but there is onething I would like to point out. Not all black people are African American. There are many different types of black people, not just African American. I dont think your racist, your honest. Just watch out for the generalizations.

I've seen people of all different races with tendencies like this. The neighborhood you live in can ultimately make a large difference in what you see, and that may seem to feel like there are so many like that. But I just think of all the people I come across on a daily basis of all different races, and you get a bit of everything from everyone.
