I think that your reading skills are a little off. If blacks make up +/- 12% of the US population, and black men make up +/- 50% of their original 12%, it'd be logical that black men made up 6% of the US population.

 So the fact that a demographic that makes up 6% of the population commits 50% of the murders is fine with you?  It really doesn't matter what group of people it could be (in this case, black men).  Obviously disporportionately large segments of the black community is not getting the point thru that either killing is bad or that killing has consequences.  Maybe some people think that the government can be blamed, and this may be true to an extent, but I'm not going to make excuses for black men.  That is just repulsive that they commit half of all murders, and I blame it on black men (the ones that commit the murders and the millions of others that leave their wives/girlfriends/baby mamas to raise their sons).

Poverty and the way the American system works has a lot of blame to it too. Not just with black people but with other races too. Even poor white people.

Well, like I said, I personally will not try to come up with reasons for this stat.  Nor will I make reasons for why white (and everyother race) murder.  This is not like other statistics that show blacks to be the poorest race...or the least educated (maybe Native Americans have them for the latter...I dunno) this is murder.  They CAN control who they murder (whereas things like education and poverty rates are less easily controlled) and there is no excuse for it.  Hopefully the new black president will allow black men to be more accountable to themselves, but I doubt this will happen.

Because they live in places where they are just killing each other and destroying EACH OTHER over a pair of shoes or $10 in a wallet or someone's gang affiliation or because someone is the buddy of a rival gang.

THAT is what should worry you really if you really care ALSO that blacks are WAY overrepresented as VICTIMS.

Now if YOU want to DO something about THAT then be my guest. If you really care about blacks being disproportionately represented as VICTIMS as MUCH as you care about them as OFFENDERS and you  want the areas filled with gang warfare and stupidity and depression and crime to get cleaned up so that LAW-ABIDING blacks can finally live in peace and SURVIVE then PLEASE go ahead and tell us whats your solution.
