I really hate it when a racist or prejudice generalization is obviously made and people deny it just because the person who said it was in their race. Like I'll take a real example that actually happened.

On youtube

Ex: A journalist says referring to the OJ case " I know people like this, they kill and then go have some chicken at KFC.

Commenter 1: OMG that was so prejudice!
Commenter 2: He wasn't being prejudice, I like KFC too, you just think everything is racist.

I mean come on now, it was obviously clear that the person was stereotyping that all black people like KFC. You don't need eyes to see that. Though people feel that to make their race look more innocent, they need to deny that what that person said was wrong.

It backfires anyways because if your defending someone who made a racist statement, it only makes me think less of you. It's better to disagree with what that person is saying despite the fact that he could be the same race as you, rather than pretend it wasn't racist. I notice this a lot. I mean if someone of my race made a racist statement, I would be like " Hay that was wrong, you need to chill."

I wouldn't be defending that person.

People that think stuff is racist when it isn't are so much fail.

(In that sentence, "So much" must actually be a contraction and adverb, while "fail" is an adjective - despite it actually being a verb or rarely a noun)

And people who pretend things weren't meant to be racist are more fail. I'd rather have a person admit that something was wrong other than say it wasn't.

I'd rather someone not call everything racist and learn to find a new word.

Your switching subjects.

So if someone obviously said something prejudice or racist, would you pretend that it wasn't wrong just because they were the same race as you or would you speak up?

Knowing you, you would probably try to argue with the person saying it was racist/prejudice if anything.

I wouldn't speak up regardless of who said it or what race they were. I don't care about "Racist" statements.

Well if it wasn't then I might - but I'd probably just ignore it.

Sure. So if someone was being racially attacked in a public place would you say something in their defense? I doubt someone like you would. There was a thing on Oprah about how people in the USA reacted to racist attacks. It was an experiment. Some didn't say anything and some even agreed to the racist attack. Which person would you be?

I didn't see a question.

You mean attacked with words?
Well I wouldn't chose a person of one race over another.

I doubt someone like you would.
"Someone like you" - that's a good one.

I could say a lot of things about "Someone like you" but I'd have to revert to "someTHING like you" for it to be gramatically correct.

Answer me - what is "Someone like me" really?

I don't watch Opera and I don't give a shit about people in the USA.

It's as you said, someone like you wouldn't give a shit if someone was being racially attacked. I think I rest my case......

The question was if you would speak up for someone who was being racially attacked like told to get out of the store because they were Arabic or so.

Well, no - but I wouldn't really do anything if a White was kicked out of a store for whatever reason.

And if I was kicked out of a store for being White - I wouldn't get all pissed and go to the press and the police like some people.

It's a free country and I think that if you don't like it leave.
