I have an HP desktop and windows XP

so i turned on my computer the other day and it was at the screen that you put your password in to sign into your computer. my computer is pretty slow when it first starts up so it was going pretty slow and i entered my password but i typed it wrong, so my computer started to go slower, then i entered it wrong again(accidentally) and the third time i put it in correctly(i think) and it froze. So i turned it off by holding down the power button and now when i start it up all it goes to is the windows XP loading screen and says it is loading forever. I let it sit for days and it never loaded up. I tried last known good configuration and safe mode, all the same; just tries to load.
what can i do?
i'm freakin out cause i can't loose my music collection

Oh sorry forgot about that. Did you try putting in the Windows XP disc and try booting from disc? Sometimes that does it.

Download a small Linux distro, burn it to a cd, boot your computer from it, force it to mount your HD (go to computer folder and double click on the drive), it will tell it it cant, try again, should get its act together, if not do what it says to do to force it to mount, using the linux command line, remember linux is case sensitive, and then retrieve your music collection, unmount your Harddrive, then try and boot xp again if that doest work, PM me.

i might suggest puppy linux for a small linux distro, about 50 meg download, with a full UI, or if you an easier to use one, download ubuntu.
