No. Its Chevy's fault for hiring Mexicans and illegal immigrants to build their transmission, and to be so incredibly cheap to throw the same basic tranny in every car they've made in the past decade. -1989 Ford Tempo: Still strong at 86,820 miles. -1999 F-150: 273,xxx miles with only one clutch replacement. -1994 2500: Three clutches in under 100,000 miles. -2002 1500: Never worked a day in its life, tranny shot at 83k. I'm sorry, but there is a trend here. It goes something like this: Ford > GM. 
Got a better testament to why Ford > GM. My dad ran his Ford F-150 for 85,000 miles without an oil change. And it was still running strong when he traded it in.
