This thought just randomly came into my head

During Hurricane Katrina, I found it wrong that the reporters and such kept calling the black people who were stuck there "refugees". They are American citizens so why did they call them that? I think it shows how we have come this far and some people still don't think of blacks as real citizens.

I think that everyone that lived in new orleans and lost their homes were called refugees.

Because they lost everything and had nowhere to go.

It wasn't a racial thing.

its just another name for someone who has no home.
