Actually yes we are! 97% of our genes are monkey. We are all part of the primate family. Does that bother you?

As we know race isn't arbitrary - the CLASSIFICATIONS are. Don't mix that up.

I assume you're speaking of Chimpanzees. Different methods can be used to determine the genetic closeness of humans and Chimps and each comes with different results.
But using the same methods we use to find the differences between races, we find that we're only 1.23 to 1.6% different from Chimpanzees.
Why would it bother me?

If I found I had a large amount of Negro in my gene pool I'd be quite surprised and I'd probably marry a nonWhite. But I'd support White Nationalism and racial/cultural preservation still.

We know that two human populations can vary enough to be considered a different grouping inside of a species. But the specific classifications are human created for the same or similar reasons we name the different breeds of dog and horse.
