should I stay or should I go? |

I can't decide if I want to stay at home with my family, or stay at my apartment at college with my roommate, for the four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Advantages of Staying at Home:
- Free food, laundry, transportation
- It's the holidays
Disadvantages of Staying at Home:
- The rules are kind of strict here at home
- I kind of dislike my family
- It's very boring, because I live in the middle of nowhere
Advantages of Going
- I don't have to be with my family between Thanksgiving and Christmas
- There are some things that I want to do when I'm down there. They can wait, but if I'm down there, I can do them now.
- I like my living area down there better than the one I have here.
- It's in a college town, so there are more things to do.
- I can drink while I'm down there. There are no bars in the town where I live.
Disadvantages of Going
- Potential for being bored, since there is no school going on, and a lot of the people in town are gone.
- I'm sure there are other downsides, but I can't think of them right now.
What do you think? I get in fights with my family, and they annoy me to no end, but I feel bad for wanting to bail on them.

i would stay because the holidays are supposed to bring people together, if only for a little while. give them this time, then ditch them later when it wont matter as much

I will be coming back for Christmas, it's just the 3 or 4 weeks in between that I would be gone for.
