This is really hard to explain but I'll try:
Last night I was lying in bed and I was awake, with my eyes open. I was at my boyfriends party earlier last night, and while I was lying there, I felt like I was still there. (no i hadn't been drinking). But I wasn't actually there, I saw his mom, two brothers, him, his dad and his grandma, but I wasn't there. But I was watching. And they were all talking, sometimes amongst themselves or sometimes to each other. And it was like I was trying to follow what they were saying. But at the same time I was telling myself 'snap out of it. snap out of it'. Because I knew I wasn't sleeping. I was looking out my window from my bed. So finally I sat up and looked at the clock and it was 2. Right when I lied back down it started again. Next time I looked at the clock it was 5. Has this happened to anyone else? What causes this?
